The internet at large, as it stands currently, has become a cesspool of ads, digital surveillance, and the resulting misinformation that is being fed back into an already catestrophically flawed system. Each iteration is becoming a more monsterous version of the last, resounding only to the demands of capitalism and not the needs of those who rely on it. It is my opinion that these anti-features have made the initial premise of the internet untenable. That is why you see what you see before you... A more basic vision of the internet, without ads, or even logging. I don't keep user data. My server logs are turned off and I scrub the system logs every 3 days. I don't run javascript for anything except the podcast section of the page and the search engine, which can be used without javascript as well. No tracking technology is used in the operation of this site. Furthermore the hardware used is as minimal as is possible. As such, it would be impossible to expect 100% up-time. Who cares? All the blog posts will be cross posted on mastodon and thus federated and therefore, should be highly available to fediverse users. Consider this a reset. An unplugging from CDNs that dominate cyberspace and a hard reboot into the shrinking frontier, where people make websites for their own sake and not for monetizing traffic. This may not be the most beautiful or exciting website on the net, but perhaps, it's good enough.
